Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone

You eat three good meals each day and are still not satisfied.  Something is missing.

Just had a big dinner

food

and still not satisfied?

We were designed, by God, with an inner hunger that will not be satisfied by only eating three meals a day.  Scripture tells us that we need more than food to live the life that God has planned for us to live.

“It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4 ESV)

We need to be passionate about learning God’s will for our lives.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied”. (Matthew 5:6 ESV)

True satisfaction comes from abiding in Christ and filling our thoughts and minds with His Word.

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.  By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. (John 15:7-8 ESV)

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. (John 6:35 ESV)

God’s Word is powerful and life changing.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 ESV)

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5 ESV)
