You certainly want to be a part of the process of electing your leaders because the scriptures tell you that you are to submit to whoever is elected.

Everyone must submit to governing authorities. (Romans 13:1 NLT)

Whatever the outcome of these elections, remember that those who end up in positions of authority are ultimately placed there by God.

For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.  The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. (Romans 13:1 & 4 NLT)

Always remember to pray for all who are in authority.

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.  This is good and pleases God our Savior,  who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4 NLT)

Bible recent 2 small

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT)
