Building Up vs. Tearing Down

Building Up vs. Tearing Down

Grace vs. Grief

What kind of words will you be using today?

Ephesians 4:29-30
29 Let no corrupting talk* come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. (Ephesians 4:29-30 ESV)

*In place of corrupting talk other versions use: unwholesome talk (NIV), foul or polluting, evil, unwholesome, worthless (AMP), foul or abusive (NLT), anything bad (ERV), harmful words (GNB), anything that would hurt (GW)

Will the words you use today build up or tear down?

Will the words you use today give grace or will they grieve the Holy Spirit?

With God’s help, let’s try to “give grace to those who hear.”  With God’s help, let’s try to use words that will be edifying to others.  With God’s help, let’s try to use our words to build others up.
